Auggie goes camping and learns to fish

Movie of Auggie casting into Papa Bob:
Whew! That was a lot of pictures to upload. I think some of these pics made the rounds already via e-mail, so enjoy them again if you've seen them already. I've also included a link to a movie of Auggie casting his fishing pole, which I don't think anyone has seen.
September found us in the Eastern Sierra with Grandma Winnie, Uncle Joe, cousin Julie, Papa Mike and Papa Bob. We were in Yosemite for several days, followed by about a week in Mammoth Lakes. We taught Auggie about climbing on rocks, casting fishing poles (no hooks yet, just a weight with a floater), and wearing backpacks. He seemed to particularly enjoy the fishing pole, and he made fast friends with the guard dog at mom's condo. As noted in the previously mentioned emails, all bad habits learned on this trip will be blamed on Uncle Joe.

More catching up

Aug's been helping with the gardening. We had good crops of yellow squash and zucchini, and we grew more tomatoes that we could eat. We really tried to use all the tomatoes.. I made soups, sauces, mixed drinks, sandwiches and pizzas. Nevertheless, between 1/4 and 1/2 of them ended up in the compost bin.
We're still working on our Red Sox early fan training. We recognize Big Papi and Manny by sight, and we've learned to raise our hands just like Manny when he hits a home run. Jen has been working with him on proper Red Sox fan neurotics (can/should we watch the game without affecting its outcome through our viewing, not saying anything positive about winning the game until we've actually won the game, how and why it's okay to fear the bullpen). We've got a ways to go still, as he has learned to annoy his mother with the phrase "I wish I could help the Yankees"!
Upcoming posts: Auggie learns to fish, We learn about Candy and Matchbox cars, pumpkin patch shenanigans, trike riding pictures and videos.

Happy Fall

It's been busy. Taking lots of pictures, but no time for posting and explaining. More soon...
Looks like we'll be Bob the Builder for Halloween. For those of you who don't know, here's all about Bob the Builder: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_the_builder
